The Milford Historical Society public program and annual meeting will be held Wednesday, November 14. During the initial meeting, we will be electing new officers for 2019/2020. Please be sure to come meet our new officers and help in our election process. After the short meeting, presenting will be former Historical Society President, long-time member, and local author, Polly Cote. She will be doing a power point program showing several pictures that her Great Uncle Charles Langdell took around Milford in the early 1900’s including The Ash Can Club, the 31st Granite Column, The Milford Oval in the horse and buggy days along with a brief history of these pictures.
Polly is the author of several books including “The Carey House Chronicles”, “They Called Her Cate” and “Rising Water, Our life Along the Souhegan”. Polly considers herself more of a compiler of information than an author. Her Great Grandmother Cate Langdell kept a diary from 1863 to 1930 and Polly has told Cate’s story in these books. Her son Charles was a noted photographer in Milord and was called on many times to take pictures.
The meeting and program starts at 7:00 and will be held in the Banquet Hall at the Milford Town Hall.
