Today, this location is home to new condos next to Wendy’s on Elm Street and was torn down just in the past couple of years. For about 25 years, the property was known as ‘Maplehurst’ and had a couple of different owners. Gerald and Juanita Conroy bought the business in 1955 and continued to operate it as a hotel and tourist boarding house until 1964. Before Milford’s Route 101 bypass, Elm Street was Route 101 and saw a lot of travelers passing through town looking for a place to eat and spend the night. The original home dates back to the early 19th century and was originally the Freeman Crosby farm. Thanks to Sandy Morrison for sharing the image with us.
