This image was taken in July of 1954 as workers were putting the finishing touches on the new section of Route 13 south. It was taken in the vicinity of today’s Chappell Tractor and the view is facing North, towards Milford. Up on the hill in the distance, you can see houses and the old water standpipe up on Prospect Street. Though at this time there was talk about building a road to bypass downtown Milford, it would be another 20 years before the Route 101 bypass over Route 13 would be added to this scene.
