This great old photo looking up Summer Street dates back to sometime after 1885. The large house on the left is today’s 16 Summer Street and was built in 1883. The first house on the right was built in 1884 and is today’s 15 Summer Street. The next house up on the right with the fence around it was built in 1880 by Louis C. Billings and is today’s 19 Summer Street. Just beyond the Billings place on the right and somewhat out of sight is today’s 25 Summer Street. It too was built by Louis C. Billings, but in 1869 and is likely the first home to be built on Summer Street.
